Know Who You're Talkin' To!

Walking into Station 51's locker room that morning, Johnny Gage, a tall, crooked smiled, dark haired, paramedic, was feelin' great.  I just have this feeling that today will be great! he thought to himself. Strolling over to his locker, Johnny knew that Roy was always there before him, so Junior didn't even bother to turn to face his partner.

"So Roy, how was your weekend? Mine was great!"  The paramedic standing next him looked kind of confused at the man before him.

"Ya see, there's this new nurse at Rampart, and I'm gonna work the good ol' Gage Charm on her, ya know?"

The man standing next to him was amazed at his colleague's stupidity.

"Man. I hate all these dumb rules! Like I can't stand it when they're all like 'Get a hair cut, Gage!' and 'Your badge isn't shined!' And right now my badge really isn't shined."

Johnny started chuckling. "If Brice were here, he'd be like 'Rule 537, paragraph 2, states that badges should always be in good condition and shiny! Go straight by the book, Gage!'" Johnny imitated the fellow paramedic.

The man turned around in total shock. "You know what?  You are-" The voice behind the unsuspecting Gage started.  "You are totally violated all the rules- and you think you are a decent fireman- paramedic! You insult the book, I'll throw it right back at you!"

Johnny froze. Roy wasn't the one standing next to him- the Talking Rulebook himself was! "B-Brice?!" Gage asked. "That's right, Gage. Your replacement partner for the shift. You should consider-" Rulebook was cut off.

"Where's Roy?" DeSoto's frantic partner asked. "He told you last shift he wasn't going to be here. You should've at least remembered that! You cease to amaze me, Gage!"

Turning to go into the bay area, Brice stopped. "Oh yea. I'm driving the squad today- I don't trust you," the paramedic said, walking out of the locker room insulted by his temporary partner. Completely alone, Johnny sat, tying his boots. "I was wrong. Today will be the worst. Damn that Brice!" Johnny mumbled to himself. "And I can't even drive my own squad!" After his uniform was all done, the sad, sad paramedic ran out of the locker room as the klaxons summoned him to the scene of an accident.

This has been my story. I hope you liked it!
