"Hey Bob, I see they gotcha covering this fire too."

"Yeah, yeah, Andy, you know the Sentinel, if it breathes, cover it and make it look good.  Whaddya know about this blaze."

"Some kids set it, playing with matches.  They thought it would be cool to burn this part of the town down."

"Anybody hurt."

"Ah yeah, some of the firefighters were hurt, but nothing serious.  Some smoke inhalation."

"What about that one sitting there, on the squad rubbin' his eyes, which truck is it, 51?"

"Yeah, that's 51's A shift.  I don't know if he's hurt, but he and his partner rescued the five kids who started the fire."

"Five kids?  How horrible.  They got trapped?"

"Yeah, they were on the second floor and trapped and panicked.  He and his partner, DeSoto, I think, got all five of the kids out."

"How old are the kids?"

"Oh about eight to ten."

"They're okay, the kids?"

"Nah, one of the kids didn't make it.  It's not like these paramedics didn't try.  Never saw two men work so hard on what looked to me, like a lost cause.  I heard that DeSoto has kids of his own.  Must break his heart every time he works on a kid."

"What about him sitting on the squad?  What's his name?"

"Think it's Gage."

"I'll go talk to him."

"Bob, I wouldn't."

"Why not?"

"Even heroes have the right to grieve."
